A Monday tradition

Most Mondays, we come into work talking about movies we've seen over the weekend. Today, in keeping with that tradition, I am happy to recommend "Thank You for Smoking." It is seriously one of the best movies I've seen so far this year: funny, biting, thoughtful, and not so desparate to make a point that it proceeds to hammer you over the head with its message.

My friend and cubemate, John Richards, offered his recommendations over the cubicle wall. He did not enjoy "A History of Violence" at all.

"A very pointless movie. It felt like for the first 20 mintues it was going somewhere. Then it went off on a tagent, then it made a quick left," then nothing, he said.

Then he offered another review.

"If you really want to stay up and watch Richard Grieco in 'Against the Law,' don't bother," John said. "He plays a cowboy like villain that has a six shooter. Every time he runs into a cop, he challenges them to a draw. It's just ridiculous."
