Looking for Rita
Quite by coincidence, during the time I was writing about Rita Stakovich's disappearance and shortly thereafter, two acquaintances wrote and asked me if I knew how they could get in touch with her.
And then just this morning, Tanya Turina, who visited here with Rita in 1998, said a friend of hers spotted Rita this weekend in Novokuznetsk. The friend said that she greeted her but that Rita did not acknowledge her.
Was this a case of mistaken identity, or has Rita reappeared in her native city?
